Govt reconstitutes NITI Aayog; new ministers join as members, spl invitees | India News

The Government of India, on Tuesday, notified the reconstituted NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog.

While the top postions in the apex public policy think tank remain unchanged, several new ministers in the newly formed government have been appointed as either ex-officio members or special invitees to the Aayog.


Prime minister Narendra Modi remains the chairperson of the Aayog, Suman K Bery will continue to hold the Vice Chairman post, while VK Saraswat, Ramesh Chand, VK Paul and Arvind Virmani will remain full-time members.

“Embracing a vision for holistic development and innovation, NITI Aayog is on a journey of transformative initiatives that promise to redefine India’s future,” said the think tank. 

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the new ex officio member. Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi, Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and Minister of Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy among others are new members, added as special invitees, following their inclusion in the Union Cabinet.
