The archipelago of Lakshadweep, the smallest Union Territory in India with 12 atolls, three reefs, and five submerged banks, is quite small. A single-district Union Territory encompassing 32 Sq. The absence of Scheduled Castes is notable in this Union Territory.
The primary occupations of the people include fishing, coconut farming, and spinning coirs. The tourism sector is a new frontier.
